Explore Twenty-Nine New Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander Precon Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-loving heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a exclusive event held at NYCC. Could this be a radical new set or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.

Check out below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful background. All items listed here releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before diving into all the various special decks and collections on offer, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let's unpack a couple of surprising details. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where players can cheat powerful creatures onto the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells too. The designers also used this chance to refine the mechanic a little (Sneak counts as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter Sneak in future sets from now on.

“If we ever were to return to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” an experienced designer explained. “But on other planes, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable we’ll use Sneak.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is among four cards with unique artwork created exclusively for the expansion by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards outside of your main deck, many players were. Yet according to Wizards, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to ensure the new cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to make sure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to provide the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” the designer added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone instead of just one). Take a look below:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, although that could easily go up due to popularity. Sources told that it contains 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards in addition to the six legendary creatures shown earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we assume the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

How will the TMNT version of Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, the company is selling a collection. This one costs $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 15 Foil land cards
  • 15 Regular basic lands
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Foil promotional card
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card featuring all-new TMNT artwork. The team revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six different pizza promos in total.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Play Boosters (the perfect amount a group of four to draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for winning)
  • 90 Non-foil basic lands (for building your deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products aimed at beginners. Here, the cooperative set is a unique product of decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that every Boss card gives unique powers to the creatures included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
